More than 30 years of innovation
-
1993
Hukx (then Hukseflux) founded
Founded by Mr Eric HOEKSEMA, Mr Kees VAN DEN BOS soon joined. The first products were heat flux sensors for application in meteorology and building physics.
-
1995
Introducing the HFP01 heat flux sensor
The icon. Still in production in 2026, since it is a very popular sensor.
-
2004
Hukx’s first pyranometer
The LP02 spectrally flat Class C pyranometer, primarily used in agriculture.
-
2007
The introduction of the NR01 4-component net radiometer
The first one with heated pyrgeometers. The main application is in surface energy flux measurement.
-
2008
Higher heat fluxes with SBG01 water-cooled sensor
For research of fire and flames, intensities of up to 200 suns.
-
2010
Growth and worldwide expansion
Hukx’s first sales meeting with international representatives. Company size: 15 FTE.
-
2013
Class A pyranometer
Model SR20 quickly gained acceptance in PV system performance monitoring due to its superior temperature dependence.
-
2013
Pyranometers selected for national networks
Acceptance for use in India’s solar resource assessment network signalled recognition of the quality of the Hukx sensors.
-
2013
Building and moving to our own office
A necessary step in view of our rapid growth.
-
2016
Patent grant “Pyranometer with forced airflow”
Making it possible to heat pyranometers and eliminate zero offsets (EP 2 265 764 B1).
-
2017
World premiere: first heated Class A pyranometer
Model SR30, also the first with an integrated humidity sensor, tilt sensor, and pressure sensor.
-
2019
Ultra-high heat flux source installed
Reaching fluxes up to 1000 suns, necessary for testing our next generation Gardon gauges.
-
2019
Cost-effective and accurate model FHF heat flux sensors
Making it possible to manufacture accurate, cost-effective heat flux sensors (EP 3 591 361 B1).
-
2020
ISO IEC 17025 accreditation
Accredited pyranometer and pyrheliometer calibration available both in the EU and USA.
-
2021
Next level heat flux sensors
Introduction of the FHF05 series: flexible, high temperature.
-
2021
Patent “diffuse solar radiation sensor” EP4348196A1
Diffuse radiation measurement with a relatively simple instrument.
-
2023
Celebrating 30 years of innovation
With the intention of continuing the tradition!
-
2024
Technology leadership to market leadership
Hukx attained market leadership in Class A pyranometers for utility-scale PV system performance monitoring.
-
2024
Upgrade of worldwide calibration network
Increased global coverage, 9 locations and counting. Best possible accuracy of calibration.
-
2025
New additional building opened
Floor space x 2.5, upgrading production facilities in Delft, the Netherlands.
-
2025
Introducing “Industrial pyranometers”
Designed for purpose: reliable performance under the harsh conditions at PV power plants. The first IEC 61326-1 “Industrial equipment” – rated pyranometers, with level 2 surge immunity.
-
2025
Introducing the SRD100 diffusometer
Diffuse radiation measurement finally made easy; no moving parts!
-
2026
Hukseflux becomes Hukx
Rebranding the company to Hukx – Sensor technology.
